How to Renew Claude Pro with Crypto

What actually happens when the term ends

On the expiry date your account drops back to the free tier. Nothing is deleted — conversations, Projects and settings all remain — but paid usage limits, Claude Code access on paid plans and the higher-capability model access stop. There is no grace period and no warning from Anthropic beyond their own in-product notices, because from their side this is simply a prepaid term ending as scheduled.

The timing question: can you redeem a second code early?

This is the most common question about renewal and the answer is generally yes: redeeming a gift code while a paid term is still running extends the term rather than wasting it. That means you do not have to wait for the exact expiry moment, and you can buy your next term a few days ahead to guarantee continuity.

A renewal schedule that does not fail

1. Note the expiry date the moment the code is delivered — it is on your order page and in the delivery email.
2. Five days out, decide whether you are continuing and at which tier. This is the point to consider moving between Pro and Max.
3. Three to four days out, place the order. This leaves room for on-chain confirmation and manual fulfilment inside the 12-hour SLA, with slack for a weekend.
4. Redeem the new code within a day or two of the old term ending.
5. Confirm the new end date in your Claude account settings before you close the tab.

The failure mode this avoids: ordering on the expiry day itself, hitting a slow Bitcoin confirmation, and losing two days of access in the middle of a piece of work.

How we handle reminders

We store the computed expiry date for every order and email you twice — five days before, and one day before — with a link that has your plan and term already selected. This exists because the alternative, telling customers to set their own calendar reminder, is what everyone else in this market does and it demonstrably does not work.

Cutting the cost of renewing

Longer terms are cheaper for the straightforward reason that you pay the markup and the network fee once instead of twelve times, plus the multi-month discount on the underlying gift. If you are confident you will keep using Claude, the annual term is the rational purchase. If you are not, monthly is the price of that flexibility and it is a fair one to pay.

Switching tiers at renewal

Renewal is the natural moment to reassess. If you hit Pro limits repeatedly during the last term, Max 5× is the next step. If you barely touched it, drop to a shorter Pro term or take a break on the free tier — a lapsed subscription costs nothing, and picking it back up later is just another code.

Because there is no card on file, changing tier carries none of the friction of a normal subscription change. You simply buy a different thing next time.

If you already lapsed

Nothing is lost. Redeem a new code on the same account and the paid tier comes back immediately with your history intact. There is no penalty for a gap and no reactivation fee — the only cost of lapsing is the days you spent on the free tier.
