Which SOL network to use

Network choice decides most of what you pay in fees, and getting it wrong is the one mistake that loses funds outright. Match the network shown on the invoice exactly.

The case for paying with SOL

• Settlement in a second or two — the fastest confirmation of any option on this site.
• Fees of a fraction of a cent, so the network cost is genuinely negligible.
• Large and active retail holder base, so many buyers already have SOL in a Phantom or Solflare wallet.
• If you hold SOL and want to spend it rather than sell it, this is a direct route.

The case against

• Volatile. A 3% move while you get around to sending is entirely normal, and can underpay the invoice.
• Only one network, so if your exchange restricts Solana withdrawals you have no fallback within this coin.
• Spending a volatile asset on a fixed-price service means you carry the price risk for no benefit — USDC on the same network gives you the same speed and fee with none of the risk.

SOL or USDC on Solana?

Both settle in the same second and cost the same fraction of a cent, because both use the same network. The difference is entirely about what you are holding and what price risk you want.

If you hold SOL as an investment, spending it on a subscription means realising it at whatever the price happens to be — and if it appreciates afterwards, you paid more than you thought.
